One firm launched its online betting program within hours of the board's approval, a snappy turnaround that was expected because all three sites already are arrange to control online betting in other states.
Gamers must arrange an account on one of the most approved Web sites, and enter bank card or other payment information had to make a wager. In addition they can review past performances and other betting statistics and watch races streaming live from across the world.
The state is applying a 1.75 percent tax on each bet, which regulators estimate will raise up to $1 million a year. The remainder is split among track owners and horsemen.
